Is School Open Today?
When there are weather warnings in place the school will closely monitor the situation with regards to safety.
In the event of heavy snowfall the school does not automatically close, the situation will be assessed from a safety aspect. When weather warnings are issued, we as a school need to consider whether the conditions are too hazardous to travel, therefore making it unsafe for children or staff to travel to school.
If a decision is made to close the school due to bad weather conditions, then Surrey schools make announcements on Eagle Radio 96.4fm and on Eagle Radio's website. Information will be posted on the school website and parents will be sent a text message.
However, please listen to the radio or check their website if you have not heard from us and the weather looks questionable - technology is great when it works, but if there is a problem, we wouldn't want your child to set off for school.
Should weather conditions turn cold and school remains open we ask that students and parents/carers be mindful of their journey to school and allow extra time. Kings Head Lane is often treacherous and the pedestrian paths have in the past not been treated. So we ask that parents/carers bringing children to school should walk with extreme caution and do not drive down Kings Head Lane at all.
If due to deteriorating weather conditions, we have to close early you would be informed via text to come and collect your child.
As always the safety of our children and staff is paramount in any decision to close the school.
In the event of a snow day, Google Classroom can be accessed for online remote learning - the wonders of technology! We will of course leave some time to play in the snow as well!
