Science:

Our Science topic this term is ‘Plants’.

This week we are looking at deciduous and evergreen trees and the difference between them. You can use the presentation below and tree photos to learn about the two different types of tree. Can you go on a tree hunt and see if you can spot deciduous or evergreen trees? Can you collect any leaves? Perhaps you could take some photos or use the tree hunt activity sheet below.

Topic:

Our topic this term is called ‘In Grandma’s Day’. In this topic we will be looking at changes within living memory. Our first focus will be on toys.

This week you are thinking about how dolls used to be made and how this compares to dolls today. Can you have a go at making your own sock doll? You can use things that you have around the house. See the presentation below for ideas.

Phonics:

Ruth Miskin is doing live phonics streaming daily with different sets of speed sounds. She holds sessions at 9.30/10.00/10.30 in the mornings. This follows the same format as our phonics sessions in school. The children can practise set 2 and 3 sounds.
