The children have a Maths and English task set daily and one Topic, Science and Spellings task which can be completed at any point over the week. Please scroll down to find the weekly activities at the bottom of this page.

 

Reading:

Encourage your child to read daily and complete their reading record.

Wednesday

English:

Choose from one of the templates (from the pack on Monday) to begin writing your non-chronological report – including the opening paragraph and the appearance section or write it directly into your Home Learning Book

Thursday

Maths:

English:

Continue and finish writing your report – you could add labelled diagrams, a glossary, additional fact boxes.

Friday

Maths:

See Purple Mash - Monster Multiplication – log in to complete your task
OR try one of the Topmarks games from Monday’s Maths lesson.

English:

Read your report and check for spelling and punctuation errors. Maybe you could type out in neat or in your exercise book, using the correct layout for a non-chronological report complete with pictures.

PSHE:

Can you design and make a card for Father’s day (you could give it to your grandfather or even your mum if you can’t give it to your dad.)

Also, if you didn’t get the chance to do this over the half-term break, you can complete the Covid Time Capsule sheet.

Art:

Take a look at the painting “Surprised! (Tiger in a Tropical Storm)” by Henri Rousseau and see the attached questions to ask yourself about the painting.

Did you know that Rousseau never visited a jungle? He got all his ideas from pictures or visiting glasshouses in Paris.

You may wish to create your own Rousseau, possibly using a collage of trees/leaves and drawing a tiger hidden inside.
