We are now starting a new Science topic on ‘Plants’. Over the next few weeks, the children will be describing the basic needs of plants and they need to observe and describe how seeds and bulbs grow into plants.

We are going to begin by recapping the parts of a tree and a flower. This week on your daily walk or in your garden can you spot any trees or flowers? Can you name any of these trees or flowers? Can you name any of their parts? Can you spot their leaves or the stem? You could take some photos on your walk or you could complete the sheets below.

Do not worry if you do not have a magnifying glass!

Topic:

We are now starting a new topic called ‘Kings, Queens and Castles.’ In this topic we will looking at the current Royal Family and some of the Queens from the past. We will be comparing two past Queens and we will be thinking about what it would be like to be a member of royalty.

Begin by talking to members of your family or researching the following questions.

Can anyone become the King or Queen?

What is the role of a King or Queen?

If you were going to be the King or Queen for the day what rules would you create?

A Special Task:

This week you may have heard about Captain Tom Moore who has raised millions of pounds for the NHS.

How amazing!

The WW2 veteran will be celebrating his 100th birthday on 30th April.

Can you make him a special birthday card?
