‘Fraction Equivalence Quiz' and ‘Equivalent Fractions’

English: Write a story setting using the image attached below.  Remember to write descriptively using all of your senses (sight/hearing/touch/smell/taste).

If you are stuck with how to begin writing, try these words:

‘Staring through the mist across the courtyard, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw….’

Remember: As this is a story setting, there should only be description of the picture and no real action happening in your writing.

Friday:

Maths: Check your understanding of Equivalent Fractions'

There is a worksheet for you to complete below attached as a pdf file.

English: Write a story from the setting picture attached below as a Word document.

Start with the words: I was on the 12th step when I awoke in my pyjamas...

Think about where the steps will take you or have taken you.  Describe the scene and the characters in an interesting way. Conclude your story with an interesting ending.  Then email your work into school on homework@byfleet.surrey.sch.uk.

Spellings:

Practise your spellings daily using one of the activities from our school's spelling approach:

Topic:

As part of our topic 'Our Environment' this term, we have been learning about land features and tourist attractions, please research one of each and produce a PowerPoint/poster/brochure/leaflet with your findings.  Try to choose them from different continents to build up your knowledge from around the world.  You might choose The Eiffel Tower and The Grand Canyon.  Then email the work into school, so I can see (and possibly share) your fabulous efforts!

Extra/Optional Tasks:

Maths Activities:

If you would like to try a Maths Problem each Day, there are some resources below.

There are two sets to choose from, so aim to challenge yourself or revise your current understanding.  You will need a paper and pen to complete workings out.

They are in the form of a PowerPoint and when you click on the slides, the answers are revealed-so this might need some parental supervision!

Enjoy and let me know how you get on!
