The children have a Maths and English task set daily and one Topic, Science and Spellings task which can be completed at any point over the week. Please scroll down to find the weekly activities at the bottom of this page.

 

Encourage your child to read daily and complete their reading record. They could also complete one of reading comprehensions below about the beach. Please choose the level which best suits your child’s ability.

Daily Tasks:

Monday:

Maths: This week in Maths, you will be completing multiplication and division questions. Today you will be completing multiplication questions. You can count up in 2s, 5s and 10s to find the answers.

Please complete the sheets provided below.

Challenge: How quickly can you solve the multiplication questions below? Can you beat your time? Good luck!

English: This week, we are finishing off work on ‘How to Find Gold’. Watch the story using the link below and then complete the activity describing the image from the story.

Tuesday:

Maths: Today you are going to continue to solve multiplication problems. Firstly, you need to find the answers to all of the number sentences. Then you will need to add all the answers together to reach the final answer. You can draw tens and ones to help you with this final step if needed.

For example: Step 1:     2x2 = 4         5x2=10        6x2 =12              

Step 2:     4+10+12 = 26

English: Have a look at the ‘How to Find Gold activities’ below and choose one of the activities to complete.

Wednesday:

Maths: Today you are going to be answering division questions. You can count up in 2s, 5s and 10s to find the answers.

Please complete the sheets provided below.

English: Today you are going to plan your own adventure story just like ‘How to Find Gold.’ You can draw pictures and jot down your ideas on the sheet provided below.

Thursday:

Maths: Today you are going to be solving division word problems. Carefully read the word problem and work out the important information.

Please complete the sheet provided below.

English: Start writing your own adventure story just like ‘How to Find Gold’. Try to include story language, noun phrases and accurate punctuation. You can finish writing your story tomorrow.

Friday:

Maths: Today you are going to look at the relationship between multiplication and division. You can multiply in any order but you cannot divide in any order. When multiplying the largest answer comes at the end of the number sentence. When dividing you begin with the largest number.

Please complete the sheet provided below.

English: Complete your adventure story. Read through your story to see if there is anything you need to add or improve. If you have finished your story you could try the activity below.

You have been practising the Year 1 and 2 common exception words and you have been doing brilliantly. Can you correct the spelling mistakes in the sentences below?

Please chose the sheet which best suits your child’s ability.

 

Science:

We are going to continue with our new topic about the environment.

It is very important that we help look after our environment. We can do this by reducing, reusing and recycling. Please have a look at the PowerPoint below which discusses the importance of putting our rubbish in the bin. Please create a poster which reminds people to put their rubbish in the bin.

Topic:

Last week, you began finding out all about Windsor Castle and creating your leaflet. This week I would like you to complete your leaflet. Try to make it as appealing to visitors as possible. You could include pictures and a map if you wish. I look forward to seeing your leaflets.

Mindfulness:

It is important to have time to reflect at the moment and think about our feelings. Have a look at the mindfulness presentation below. You can use some of the activities to relax and reflect. Remember you are all super stars!
