Week Beginning: 8th June 2020

Dear parents,

Last week, we finished our decimals topic in Maths however I am aware that this is a tricky topic. Many of the children found the end of chapter review tricky to complete, especially having the break during half term. Please do not worry about this - our next topic on money should consolidate their understanding as they usually find money easier as it is 'real' and in context. I have attached some additional resources below if you feel that your child would benefit with some extra revision.

Week beginning: 8th June 2020

The children have a Maths and English task set daily and one Topic, Science and Spellings task which can be completed at any point over the week. Please scroll down to find the weekly activities at the bottom of this page.

Practise your spellings daily using one of the activities from our school's spelling approach:

We are continuing with our topic on ‘Sound’. Go into your garden or inside your house and listen carefully. Complete the activity sheet.

Our topic is called ‘Save our Planet! We need to take care of our planet in lots of different ways. So far we have looked at: plastic pollution, deforestation and endangered animals. During school, we also learned about global warming. Think about all the things we can do to help the planet. Write a paragraph or create a poster or PowerPoint with your top 10 rules to protect our planet – try to include all of the areas we have learned about already.

Father’s Day is coming up on Sunday 21st June – you could use a template to create a card if you want to!

Think about rules and why we have them. In school, we have lots of rules to keep everyone safe. Think about what you could do or change.

Below are some activities for you to reflect on your feelings at this time. Focus on what you are grateful for and how to manage worries and feelings. Colouring is a great way to focus your thoughts – I know you love narwhals so enjoy!
