Year 3 Owls

January 2020

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Happy New Year!  smiley

Our topic this term is North and South.  For History, we will be learning about Polar Explorers, including Ernest Shackleton. Our Science topics are Rocks & Soils and Plants. In Geography we will be learning about the North and South Poles, where they are located in the world and comparing these areas to Britain and our local area. We'll also be learning about the awesome animals who live at the poles.

We will be visiting Byfleet Public Library later this month. This is to encourage the use of the Library for local families, as well as to understand how libraries work and the history of the local area.

Homework will continue as in Autumn Term with weekly spellings stuck into the reading record books, maths sheets in folders and English/topic homework stuck in the homework books. Please return homework books and maths folders on WEDNESDAYS. It will be given out on Friday. Spelling tests and Mental Maths test will take place on Fridays. There is a rotation for Show and Tell – Please check the window for dates.

Please remember we advise your child to bring in healthy snacks, a named water bottle and named clothing. Please check your child's pencil case in case it nbeeds restocking. Their pencil case should include the following items and MUST be named:
